Providing an even gloss finish to acrylic paintings and photographic media such as digital prints, Winsor & Newton : Professional Acrylic : Gloss UV Varnish protects artworks from airborne pollutants, UV damage and fading. A thin layer can be applied acrylic paintings once completely dry.

The varnish contains a UV protective agent, which improves lightfastness and prevents fading and colour shifting. Winsor & Newton : Professional Acrylic : Gloss UV Varnish is especially beneficial when varnishing non-lightfast media such as giclée and digital prints.

The varnish can be removed with Artists' Acrylic Varnish Remover. For best practice, an isolation coat of gloss medium or soft gel can be applied to the artwork, creating a clear barrier to protect your painting before applying the varnish.

Winsor & Newton : Professional Acrylic Varnishes are available in Matt, Satin and Gloss, and can be intermixed in order to vary the look and sheen of the varnish.
